Birtley Woodland Art Space is a community art, crafts, and well-being space for people to come together and learn from professional instructors passionate about sharing and passing on their knowledge and skills to others situated on the Birtley Estate in Bramley, Guildford.

 

Ruth and Lorraine are co-founders of Birtley Woodland Art Space and are looking forward to hosting their fourth Open Studios in collaboration with Surrey Artists Open Studios (SAOS) on a selection of dates in June 2024.

 

The woodland art space is nestled within the woodland beyond the lake on the Birtley Estate in Bramley, a beautiful Surrey Hills location, so picturesque with its lakes and gardens and woodland walks, and not surprisingly it is classified as an "AONB" an area of outstanding natural beauty!

The type of help we are looking for includes the following:

Friday 14th June

> Help with setting up the site ready for Surrey Artists Open Studios commencing on Saturday 11th June.

> Help exhibitors set up if needed

> Erection of signs

> Tidying site

​

All other dates

> Possibility of making and serving refreshments e.g. Tea, Coffee, Soft Drinks and Cakes

> Guiding visitors through the site

> Car Park attendant during busy periods (you get to keep the entrance fee)

> First Aider

> Assisting exhibitors if needed

> Help with workshops

Please note that this volunteer activity is suitable for adults or sensible teenagers only, we prefer you are not accompanied by young children whilst volunteering although they are welcome to visit the site and Surrey Artist Open Studio if accompanied by another adult.
