about birtley woodland art space

Welcome to the great outdoors, a place that is good for both our mental and physical health!

Birtley Woodland Art Space is nestled within the woodlands on the 48-acre Birtley Estate, in Bramley, Guildford. A beautiful Surrey Hills location for you to relax, unwind, be mindful and inspired by nature. This picturesque location includes a lake, gardens, lawns and woodland walks and much more, not surprisingly it is classified as an ‘AONB’, an area of outstanding natural beauty!

Cider Brandy is distilled from over 600 apple trees located in Birtley Estates very own cider apple orchard. We are fortunate to have the Guildford Bee Keepers and their hives located on site too. Fishing is also undertaken on the lake where there is an abundance of trout.

The woods are full of wildlife with deer, foxes and badgers and smaller, unusual, mammals such as dormice and water shrews. Birds are very prolific with nesting buzzards, sparrow hawks and tawny and little owls as well as a wealth of smaller birds.

Immerse yourself in the surrounding flora and fauna of the woodlands, you are also welcome to picnic alongside the lake or on the lawns. This is a place to come and relax, feel energised and inspired by nature and to release your inner artist by turning your hand to something different! What could be better than to spend quality time with like-minded people, friends, colleagues or loved one’s at such a welcoming and accessible location!

Ruth and Lorraine very much look forward to welcoming you to Birtley Woodland Art Space.
